Micaela Clifford is one of our newest brand ambassadors and we are just so inspired by her hard working ways. We took a sneak peak into her life with a short interview. Keep reading to see what makes her tick and how she gets those wash board abs.

Q: What do you consider workout heaven?

“Anything that gets the heart rate up and the sweat pouring. OCR training, boxing and some good-old-fashioned running. The high from those feel-good endorphins released, are better than any other feeling.”

Q: And workout hell?

“Playing squash against my Mom. I train 10x harder than my Mom and yet, I’m destroyed in every match we play against each other. It all comes down to skill… And I usually blame it on the racquet.”

Q: What’s one thing you never skip in your workout?

“Some form of cardio, even if it’s just a warm down walk.”

Q: What’s your favourite kind of outfit to workout in?

“Fitgymwear. I find the clothing fits perfectly and I don’t have to constantly adjust. I receive so many compliments in my Fitgymwear brand!”

Q: What do you keep in your gym bag?

“Earphones(have to workout to music), Fitbit watch, sweat towel, water bottle, toiletries, change of clothing.”

Q: What’s the biggest mistake that fitness newbies make?

“Doing too much too soon and then giving up. Baby steps work best. It took me many years to get to this fitness level.”

Q: What are your go-to healthy snacks?

“Nuts, fruit and nut spreads.”

Q: Why did you go vegan?

“Going Vegan has enhanced my sporting performance by far so I’d say I started for health reasons but after studying this subject further, I can definitely say it’s for ethical and environmental reasons too.”

Q: If you could eat at one restaurant for the rest of your life, where would it be?

“My mom’s delicious and nutritious vegan meals. I’m still trying to find a restaurant that can make similar good food.”

Q: Are you a sneaker or heels girl outside of your fitness zone?

“During the day, sneakers for sure and heels for special occasions.“

Q: What do you like to do on weekends?

“I try to enter trail races over most weekends. I love being outdoors and if the weather’s great and the surf is lekker, I’ll definitely take a paddle out. Otherwise I enjoy a nice shopping day, splurging on dresses and getting my hair and nails ‘did’. I enjoy eating out, spending time with loved ones and I’ll enjoy a social(drinking) event maybe once a month or so.”

Q: What’s the best part about being a fitness model?

”I can make an income out of something I’m really passionate about and I inspire young girls to be healthy.”
